Zem Zem’s First Lady’s Fundraiser 2010

Every year the First Lady of the Zem Zem Shrine takes on a project for the Erie Shriners Hospital for Children. This year the First Lady is raising money to purchase a Hand and Foot Pro Mentor and its accessories. This piece of equipment will primarily be used with children with cerebral palsy.

The Hand and Foot Mentor Pro is a therapy tool designed for patients with limited use of either one or both arms or feet due to increased muscle tone and/or poor motor control. This would be for patients with neuromuscular dysfunction such as cerebral palsy or hemiplegisa. It may also be helpful for patients with brachial plexus injuries from birth trauma or injury. It specifically targets the muscles to increase motion and to train those muscles to move with greater control for smoother movements.

This year the First Lady is raising funds by selling butterfly pins at a cost of $5.00 a pin. There are also two different sets of note cards with pictures of the Shrine Hospital from the groundbreaking to the present with two pictures of the old Shrine Club and one of the new Shrine Club at 38^th and Zuck Streets. These note cards are six to a package and $5.00 for a package. Also available are window decals for a donation of $10.00. The window decal says “Proud Supporter of Erie Shriners Hospital for Children”.

The Jewelry Jackpot tickets are on sale now. The Jewelry Jackpot will be held Saturday, October 16, 2010 at the Zem Zem Shrine Club at 38^th and Zuck Roads. The tickets are still $20.00 for a chance for a beautiful piece of jewelry, lunch, vendors booths, and Chinese auctions. This year the first prize drawn will be for the seller of the ticket. They will receive a pair of 14 KT YG White Pearl dangle earrings with a retail price of $100.00. Make sure you sell as many tickets as possible because the more tickets you sell the more chances you have to win the earrings.
