For the third year the NFL is allowing players to represent a charity that they are passionate about in a unique manner with the league’s player cause initiative,

"My Cause, My Cleats".

The initiative was created for NFL players to showcase a charitable cause that is meaningful to them. Players took part in helping to design their own cleats, with the NFL giving final approval.

More than 800 NFL players will showcase causes that are important to them with custom cleats as part of the NFL'sMy Cause My Cleatscampaign.

As part of the collaboration between the NFL and players, players will represent hundreds of charitable organizations.

In recent years, the NFL has dedicated one week of the regular season for the players to wear cleats aimed at promoting causes important to them. For 2018, the program will expand.

Each team will have a designated My Cause, My Cleats game, spanning Week 13, Week 14, Week 15, and ending with the Week 16 Thursday night game between the Saints and the Steelers.

In all, 32 games will include the My Cause, My Cleats program, with each team having a designated home game that will showcase the effort.

Players also will be permitted to auction their cleats, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the player’s selected charity.

This year the Cleveland Browns have 30 players participating in the “My Cleats, My Cause” program. The Buffalo Bills have over 20 players participating and the Pittsburgh Steels have close to 10 so far that are participating.
